Regular Season Round 6: Psychiko - Ermis Agias 98-76

Round 6 in A2 means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Athens where host Psychiko (3-3) crushed league's leader Ermis Agias (4-2) 98-76 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Ermis Agias. Psychiko made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Ermis Agias helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Estonian Martin Paasoja (191-93) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Guard Nikos Arsenopoulos (195-0) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Latvian Rihards Kuksiks (201-88, college: Arizona St.) who recorded 18 points and 8 rebounds and guard Leonidas Triantafillou (190-88) added 15 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Psychiko moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Ermis Agias at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by Ionikos Nikaias. Ermis Agias will play next round against Kavala trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Psychiko will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Karditsas on the road.
