Regular Season Round 8: Toyoda Gosei - Gifu Swoops 79-64

Toyoda Gosei can celebrate finally their first win this season.The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Gifu Swoops (4-9) 79-64 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. American-Irish Brian Voelkel (196-92, college: Vermont) chipped in 8 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Canadian center Michael Allison (206-90, college: Maine) produced 17 points and 7 rebounds and American Bingo Merriex (206-80, college: TCU) added 7 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyoda Gosei (1-0) left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Aisin AW. Gifu Swoops lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the fifth position with nine games lost. Toyoda Gosei will face again higher ranked Gifu Swoops (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
