Rather predictable result when third ranked Levice (6-3) defeated at home 6th ranked Handlova (3-6) 68-57. Levice dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Handlova's 26. Serbian forward Nikola Gacesa (206-87, college: TCU) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and American forward Steven Davis (203-93, college: Wright St.) supported him with 10 points and 4 assists. Even 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by Croatian-Bosnian guard Ivan Mikulic (194-91) did not help to save the game for Handlova. Guard Lukas Hoferica (182-89) added 7 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Iskra Svit. Handlova lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Nova Ves. Levice will play against bottom-ranked Lucenec (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Handlova will play against the league's leader Inter Bratislava and hopes to get back on the winning track.
