Very important is a home loss of first ranked Estudiantes L. (5-1) against fifth ranked Ponferrada CDP (5-1) on Saturday night. Host Estudiantes L. was crushed by Ponferrada CDP in Lugo 105-67. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Estudiantes L.. It was a key game for the top position in Group A-B. Gabriel Gomez (195-95) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Alejandro Rivas (196-0) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Estudiantes L.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ponferrada CDP keeps a position of Group A-B leader, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Estudiantes L. Ponferrada CDP will face Gijon Basket (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Estudiantes L. will play against Chantada (#8) and hope to win that game.
