Regular Season Round 9: Novaschool - Unicaja-Andalucia 73-72

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Unicaja-Andalucia (2-5) was edged by tenth ranked Novaschool (1-6) in Malaga 73-72 on Saturday. Novaschool shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. It was a good game for forward Pablo Fernandez (197-0) who saved his team from a defeat with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Center Anastasio Vazquez (204-92) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Novaschool's coach Javier Florido used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Alessandro Scariolo (184-1) answered with 23 points and Dutch center Morgan Stilma (202-0) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Unicaja-Andalucia. Novaschool left bottom position moving up to ninth place in Group D-A, which they share with Martos. Loser Unicaja-Andalucia keeps the eighth position with five games lost. Novaschool will face league's second-placed CAM E.Soler in Melilla in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
