Everything went according to plan when leader AZS AWF Mick. (9-0) beat on the road 3rd placed AZS UJK Kielce (5-4) 101-83 on Saturday. AZS AWF Mick. forced 22 AZS UJK Kielce turnovers. AZS UJK Kielce was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Mariusz Piotrkowski (198-84) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds for the winners and guard Lukasz Szczypka (185-80) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was center Maciej Szewczyk (197-94) with 31 points and 5 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and Piotr Osiakowski (197-92) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for AZS AWF Mick.. They maintain first place in Group C with 9-0 record. Loser AZS UJK Kielce dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. AZS AWF Mick. will face MKS DG 2 (#14) in Dabrowa Gornicza in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
