Regular Season Round 2: BC Titebi - Olimpi 70-93

The most surprising game was a loss of BC Titebi (1-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by Olimpi (1-1) 93-70. The game without a history. Olimpi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Olimpi outrebounded BC Titebi 43-28 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by BC Titebi's players. 28 personal fouls committed by BC Titebi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Mark Ogden (208-94, college: Dixie St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. The other American import point guard Tre Bennett (178-92, college: Angelo St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Cape Verdean-Portuguese forward Joel Almeida (195-85, college: Brockport St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and international Besik Lezhava (192-86) added 18 points and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for BC Titebi. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olimpi is looking forward to face Batumi at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BC Titebi will play against Kutaisi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
