Rather expected game in Thessaloniki where 5th ranked Evropi (3-3) was rolled over by second ranked Iraklis (5-1) 83-60 on Saturday. Iraklis made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Evropi's players. Lithuanian Ronaldas Rutkauskas (203-92) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Michalis Polytarchou (190-83) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Konstantinos Kampouridis (204-99) with 20 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Lefteris Akepsimaidis (190-85) scored 14 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Iraklis have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Ionikos Nikaias. Newly promoted Evropi dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Iraklis will meet Charilaos TM (#13) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Evropi will play against Ippokratis (#11) and hope to secure a win.
