There was no surprise when 9th ranked Real Betis II (1-6) lost on the road to third ranked Benahavis (6-1) 76-59 on Saturday. Benahavis forced 19 Real Betis II turnovers. It was a good game for American forward Jermaine Sanders (196-92, college: Cincinnati) who led his team to a victory with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Mali-American forward Mamadou Diakite (196-93, college: Immaculata) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Diakite is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Juan Cebolla answered with 13 points and 5 rebounds and French guard Anthony Da-Silva (186-1) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Real Betis II. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Benahavis. They moved-up to second place in Group D-B. Newly promoted Real Betis II keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Benahavis will face league's leader Algeciras on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Real Betis II will play against Caceres (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
