Regular Season Round 16: San-en - Shiga L-Stars 75-81

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Shiga L-Stars (4-12) beat 5th ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (6-10) in Hamamatsu 81-75 on Saturday. Shiga L-Stars outrebounded San-en NeoPhoenix 41-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds. American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Shinnosuke Ohishi (174-87) replied with 30 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and American forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for San-en NeoPhoenix. Shiga L-Stars maintains fifth position with 4-12 record, which they share with Hokkaido L. and Akita NH. Loser San-en NeoPhoenix dropped to the fourth place with ten games lost. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round. San-en NeoPhoenix will play again at home against Shiga L-Stars (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
