Very important is a home loss of third ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (4-2) against sixth ranked Hapoel Eilat (4-3) on Saturday night. Host Hapoel Jerusalem was defeated by Hapoel Eilat in Jerusalem 99-83. Hapoel Eilat players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Hapoel Jerusalem's players. Hapoel Jerusalem was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for guard Lenzelle Smith-Jr (193-91, college: Ohio St.) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Elijah Bryant (196-95, college: BYU, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Five Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. Forward Da'Sean Butler (201-88, college: W.Virginia, agency: Inception Sports) came up with 19 points and 6 rebounds and forward Tashawn Thomas (203-93, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Hapoel Jerusalem in the defeat. Hapoel Jerusalem's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Hapoel Eilat have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Hapoel Jerusalem at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Hapoel Eilat will play against Ironi Nahariya (#11) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hapoel Jerusalem will play against Hapoel B/S (#6) in Beer Sheva and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
