Regular Season Round 7: Coruna - Mataro Parc 49-62

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Coruna (1-6) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Mataro Parc (4-3) 62-49 on Saturday. Bolivian point guard Romina Rodriguez (167-92) fired 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Swingman Itziar Llobet (181-93, college: Kent St.) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Andrea Perez (178-93) produced 13 points and 5 rebounds and Xiana Fernandez (-97) added 5 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Mataro Parc moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with GDKO Bizkaia and Lima-Horta. Coruna at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with six games lost. Mataro Parc will face league's leader Ardoi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Coruna will play against the league's second-placed Real Celta Vigo (#2) and hope to win that game.
