Regular Season Round 9: UPCT Basket - Jairis 81-100

Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked UPCT Basket (2-4) was outscored by second ranked Jairis (5-1) in Cartagena 100-81 on Saturday. It was a good game for Italian-Argentinian Juan Ignacio Jasen (200-85) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Jorge Lledo (203-80) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Jairis players scored in double figures. Forward Alberto Ballesta (202-95) answered with 17 points and 9 rebounds and forward Antonio Ferragut (196-94) added 14 points in the effort for UPCT Basket. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Jairis. They keep a position of Group E-B leader. UPCT Basket lost their third game in a row. UPCT Basket at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Jairis will face league's second-placed UCAM Murcia II on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. UPCT Basket will play against Gandia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
