Very expected game when 8th ranked Nova Ves (3-6) were crushed on the road by fourth ranked Iskra Svit (6-3) 97-72. Iskra Svit dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Nova Ves' 40. Iskra Svit forced 22 Nova Ves turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. American forward Chris Washburn (203-93, college: TCU) notched 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Serbian point guard Sasa Avramovic (193-93, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Iskra Svit have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Levice. Nova Ves at the other side dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Handlova. Iskra Svit will play against Rieker KN (#6) in Komarno in the next round. Nova Ves will play on the road against Zilina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
