Regular Season Round 9: Pozuelo - Quintanar 63-44

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Pozuelo (4-5) crushed at home 6th ranked Quintanar (5-4) 63-44 on Saturday. It was a good game for guard Alberto Arias (188-89) who led his team to a victory with 15 points. Center Alejandro Cue (201-92) contributed with 6 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Pozuelo's coach Mariano Arasa used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American guard Khion Sankey (196-92, college: Lipscomb) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Canadian guard Brandon Tull (193, college: Regina) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Quintanar. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Pozuelo. They moved-up to seventh place in Group B, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Quintanar keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Pozuelo will face Estudiantes B (#9) in Madrid in the next round.
