There was a small surprise in Matsuyama where fourth ranked Orange Vikings (6-11) beat one of their biggest challengers Kanazawa Sam. (4-13) 90-86 on Saturday. Orange Vikings looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Taishi Kasahara (188-89) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Orange Vikings' coach Richard Glesmann used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Denzel Bowles (208-89, college: JMU) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and guard Ryoutarou Honma (173-92) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Orange Vikings and four Kanazawa Sam. players scored in double figures. Orange Vikings maintains fourth position with 6-11 record. Kanazawa Sam. lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
