Regular Season Round 8: Marghera - Costa Masnaga 57-80

Very predictable result in Venezia where second ranked Costa Masnaga (7-1) smashed 10th ranked Marghera (3-5) 80-57 on Saturday. They outrebounded Marghera 39-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Martina Spinelli (184-2) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Valentina Baldelli (169-89) who added 16 points and 4 assists during the contest. Guard Sara Toffolo (184-0) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Silvia Pastrello (181-1) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Costa Masnaga maintains second position in A2 with 7-1 record having just one point less than leader Alpo VF. Loser Marghera dropped to the ninth place with five games lost. Costa Masnaga will face Milano (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Marghera will play against Bolzano AV and hope to win that game.
