Regular Season Round 2: Dinamo Tbilisi - Kutaisi 68-79
Date: November 17, 2018
The game in Tbilisi was also quite interesting. Kutaisi (2-0) played at the court of Dinamo Tbilisi (0-2). Kutaisi defeated Dinamo Tbilisi 79-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kutaisi. Dinamo Tbilisi managed to win fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kutaisi dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Dinamo Tbilisi's 28 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American guard DeJuan Wright (190-88, college: FIU, agency: Court Side) notched 21 points to lead the effort and the other American import forward Terrence Thompson (201-94, college: Wake Forest) supported him with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Kutaisi's coach Konstantine Tugushi used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 20 points by the former international swingman Mikhail Chochua (193-87) did not help to save the game for Dinamo Tbilisi. The former international guard Merab Bokolishvili (196-92) added 11 points and 7 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kutaisi will meet at home BC Titebi (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dinamo Tbilisi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Mgzavrebi.
