No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked BrGU COR Victoria (3-4) beat 6th ranked Gorizont II (1-5) in Brest 64-57 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 46-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. BrGU COR Victoria forced 24 Gorizont II turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Gorizont II's players. Gorizont II was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Anastasia Babak (179-2) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds. Daria Panasyuk (176-96) contributed with 15 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. Swingman Ekaterina Yalchik (174-0) replied with 23 points and 5 steals and forward Darya Semiletnikova (185-1) added 8 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Gorizont II. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. BrGU COR Victoria have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 3-4 record, which they share with Victoria. Gorizont II lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with five games lost. BrGU COR Victoria will face league's second-placed Olimpia in Grodno in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Gorizont II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Minsk Gorizont.
