Very expected game when 13th ranked Valmontone (1-5) was smashed by fifth ranked Viola RC (7-1) in Reggio Calabria 99-65 on Sunday. Viola RC dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Valmontone's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international power forward Alessandro Paesano (203-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Filippo Alessandri (190-89) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Viola RC players scored in double figures. Viola RC's coach Matteo Mecacci felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The former international power forward Luca Bisconti (208-82, agency: SPORTlab Agency) replied with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Dario Scodavolpe (193-83) added 13 points in the effort for Valmontone. Viola RC moved-up to third place in B. Loser Valmontone keeps the thirteenth position with five games lost. Viola RC will face league's second-placed Deco in Caserta in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Valmontone will play at home against Cuore Napoli (#9) and hope to win that game.
