Regular Season Round 9: AZS PCz - Unia Tarnow 105-93

There was a surprise result in Czestochowa where twelfth ranked AZS PCz (4-5) defeated higher ranked Unia Tarnow (4-5) 105-93 on Sunday. AZS PCz dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Unia Tarnow's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists comparing to just 22 passes made by Unia Tarnow's players. Dawid Jozefowski (184-96) stepped up and scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Piotr Lucka (194-96) chipped in 21 points and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Tomasz Bryzek (195-86) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and guard Lukasz Kasperzec (187-74) scored 20 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS PCz moved-up to seventh place in Group C, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Unia Tarnow. AZS PCz will face Bielsko-Biala (#13) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
