Regular Season Round 9: Mataro Feimat - Salou 73-75

There was an upset when 4th placed Mataro Feimat (6-3) was edged at home by bottom-ranked Salou (3-6) 75-73 on Sunday. Salou forced 19 Mataro Feimat turnovers. Strangely Mataro Feimat outrebounded Salou 42-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for point guard Gerard Santiago (185-92) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Eloi Galofre (195-87) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward David Romero (191-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and Jaume Sole (195-91) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Mataro Feimat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Salou moved-up to tenth place in Group C-A, which they share with Castellbisbal. Loser Mataro Feimat keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Salou will face Calvia (#14) at home in the next round. Mataro Feimat will play against Martorell (#9) and hope to win that game.
