Regular Season Round 7: BM Slam Stal - Polpharma 101-79

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked BM Slam Stal as it allowed them to take a leadership position. BM Slam Stal smashed 4th placed Polpharma in Ostrow Wlkp. 101-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Polpharma. It was a key game for the top position in the league. BM Slam Stal dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Polpharma's 38. They outrebounded Polpharma 39-28 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. BM Slam Stal looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Mike Scott (184-93, college: Idaho) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 5 assists. The former international swingman Michal Chylinski (196-86, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four BM Slam Stal players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Justin Bibbins (173-96, college: Utah) responded with 18 points (made all of his seven free throws) and swingman Daniel Golebiowski (196-98) scored 18 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BM Slam Stal have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Stelmet Enea and Polski Cukier. Polpharma at the other side keeps the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Legia and Asseco Arka. Polpharma will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. BM Slam Stal will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Start in Lublin.
