Regular Season Round 17: Shinshu BW - Fukushima 84-72

Very predictable result when first ranked Shinshu BW (15-2) won against 6th ranked Fukushima (5-12) in Nagano 84-72 on Sunday. Shinshu BW looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). His fellow American import Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Five Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. American power forward Evan Ravenel (204-89, college: Ohio St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Shinya Murakami (172-91) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Fukushima. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shinshu BW have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-2 record, which they share with Hiroshima D. Fukushima lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
