No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Happy Casa BR (5-2) beat 12th ranked Germani BR (2-5) in Brindisi 72-65 on Sunday. Strangely Germani BR outrebounded Happy Casa BR 36-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for American point guard Wes Clark (183-94, college: Buffalo) who helped to win the game recording 10 points and 8 assists. American-Israeli Adrian Banks (191-86, college: Arkansas St.) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Four Happy Casa BR players scored in double figures. International point guard Luca Vitali (201-86) answered with 23 points and 6 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and American power forward Gerald Beverly (202-93, college: Daemen) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Germani BR. Germani BR's coach Andrea Diana let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Happy Casa BR. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Sidigas AV and Vanoli CR. Loser Germani BR keeps the twelfth position with five games lost. Happy Casa BR will face Openjobmetis VA (#6) in Varese in the next round. Germani BR will play at home against Fiat TO (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
