Very important is a home loss of third ranked Tokyo Z (8-9) against fourth ranked Yamagata (8-9) on Sunday night. Host Tokyo Z was defeated by Yamagata in Tokyo 85-69. Yamagata looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American-Irish swingman Will Hanley (201-90, college: Bowdoin, agency: Duran International) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winning side and guard Hiroki Furuhashi (185-92) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds. American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Tokyo Z in the defeat. Yamagata moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Tokyo Z. Tokyo Z lost sixth consecutive game. Yamagata will meet at home Kagawa FA (#5) in the next round. Tokyo Z will play against Gunma and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
