Regular Season Round 9: Suchy Las - Gniezno 93-86

There was a small surprise in Poznan where ninth ranked Suchy Las (3-4) beat 7th ranked Gniezno (3-5) 93-86 on Sunday. They outrebounded Gniezno 39-27 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Suchy Las looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Gniezno was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Andrzej Krajewski (202-0) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and Aleksander Lewandowski (200-0, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 19 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was point guard Daniel Kotwasinski (186-99) with 27 points and Michal Szydlowski (197-87) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Five Suchy Las and four Gniezno players scored in double figures. Gniezno's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Suchy Las moved-up to seventh place in Group A. Loser Gniezno dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Suchy Las will face higher ranked Miedzychod (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gniezno will play against Tarnovia in Tarnowo Podgorne and hope to win that game.
