There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Omnia Basket (2-6) defeated 13th ranked Cecina (2-6) in Pavia 80-70 on Sunday. They outrebounded Cecina 38-24 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Giulio Mascherpa (185-92, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points. Point guard Daniele Manuelli (192-94) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Power forward Leonardo Salvadori (198-93, agency: Players Group) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Giuliano Biancani (185-84) added 12 points in the effort for Cecina. Four Cecina players scored in double figures. Omnia Basket moved-up to thirteenth place in B, which they share with Crema and Olginate. Omnia Basket will face Rosmini D. (#17) in Domodossola in the next round.
