Regular Season Round 9: Tokyo Big Blue - Kagoshima 87-92

Bottom-ranked Tokyo Big Blue is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their second consecutive match to seventh ranked Kagoshima (3-11) 92-87 on Sunday evening. Kagoshima looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kagoshima made 10 blocks. American center Antone Warren (208-93, college: Antelope Valley CC) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points, 18 rebounds and 9 blocks for the winning side and point guard Atomu Yamada (179-98) accounted for 15 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and forward Bryan Simpson (197-84) added 10 points and 14 rebounds respectively for Tokyo Big Blue in the defeat. Four Kagoshima and five Tokyo Big Blue players scored in double figures. Tokyo Big Blue's coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kagoshima moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Iwate Big Bulls. Loser Tokyo Big Blue still closes the standings with two games lost. Kagoshima will meet higher ranked Gifu Swoops (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
