Regular Season Round 7: Banco di Srd - Pistoia Basket 111-113

Pistoia Basket's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they edged much higher ranked Banco di Srd (3-4) on the road game in Sassari 113-111 on Sunday. Strangely Banco di Srd outrebounded Pistoia Basket 45-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 56.7 percentage. American players dominated also this game. It was an exceptional evening for swingman LJ Peak (196-96, college: Georgetown, agency: Pensack Sports) who led the winners and scored 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Dominique Johnson (192-87, college: Azusa Pacific, agency: Higher Vision Sports) accounted for 32 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Forward Rashawn Thomas (203-94, college: Texas A&M-CC) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Jack Cooley (206-91, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) added 12 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Banco di Srd in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Banco di Srd's coach Vincenzo Esposito tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Pistoia Basket (1-6) left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place, which they share with Dolomiti En. TR. It was Banco di Srd's third loss in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Pistoia Basket will meet higher ranked Grissin Bon RE (#14) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Banco di Srd will play against Dolomiti En. TR (#15) in Trento and hope to secure a win.
