Regular Season Round 9: Cartagena - UCAM Murcia II 84-66

There was an upset when second-best UCAM Murcia II (4-2) lost on the road to seventh ranked Cartagena (1-5) 84-66 on Sunday. Cartagena forced 22 UCAM Murcia II turnovers. Strangely UCAM Murcia II outrebounded Cartagena 48-35 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for Sudanese-American forward Aluk Adub (198, college: Florida Memorial) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 9 rebounds. FYR Macedonian point guard Kiril Panov (188-0) contributed with 15 points and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Imanol Artinano (203-95, college: Alders.-Broad.) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and Rodrigo Seoane (201-99) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for UCAM Murcia II. Four UCAM Murcia II players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cartagena maintains seventh place in Group E-B with 1-5 record. Loser UCAM Murcia II keeps the second position with two games lost. Cartagena will face higher ranked L'Alfas (#5) in Alfas Del Pi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. UCAM Murcia II will play at home against the league's leader Jairis where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
