Regular Season Round 9: Solares - Univ.Valladolid 70-81

Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Univ.Valladolid (2-4) won against on the road bottom-ranked Solares (0-6) 81-70 on Sunday. It was a good game for forward Pedro Gonzalez (195-89) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 4 assists. Forward Mario Puebla (198-98) contributed with 9 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Daniel Contreras (180-0) answered with 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Sergio Garcia (195-95) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Solares. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Univ.Valladolid moved-up to ninth place in Group A-A, which they share with La Fecha. Solares lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with six games lost. Univ.Valladolid will face higher ranked Gallofa (#5) in Santander in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Solares will play on the road against Ordizia-Basoa (#13) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
