WNBL top team - Boomers (7-3) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Townsville Fire (3-5) in Melbourne 79-75. They outrebounded Townsville Fire 43-32 including 29 on the defensive glass. Boomers players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for American guard Lindsay Allen (173-95, college: Notre Dame) who led her team to a victory with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international center Cayla George (192-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners.
