Regular Season Round 10: Chalons-Reims - Chalon 95-87

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Chalons-Reims (7-3) beat at home 8th ranked Chalon (5-6) 95-87 on Monday. Chalons-Reims forced 22 Chalon turnovers. Chalon was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Louis Cassier (203-97) scored 19 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Quentin Losser (204-99) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Hugo Besson (184-1) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Babacar Niasse (194-0) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Five Chalons-Reims and four Chalon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chalons-Reims have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 7-3 record. Loser Chalon dropped to the eleventh place with six games lost. Chalons-Reims will face league's second-placed Gravelines on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Chalon will play against Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#8) and hope to win that game.
