An interesting game took place in Rishon Le-Zion where higher ranked Maccabi Rishon (2-4) was upset on its own court by twelfth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (2-5) 85-62. Hapoel Tel-Aviv dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Rishon's 34. Hapoel Tel-Aviv players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (207-87, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. International Tomer Ginat (202-94, agency: Avi Zilberman) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. International Oz Blayzer (199-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Deshawn Stephens (203-89, college: San Diego St., agency: HMS) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi Rishon. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hapoel Tel-Aviv moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Ironi Nahariya and Ironi Nes-Ziona. Maccabi Rishon at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (#12) in Nes Ziyona.
