Important game to mention about took place in Cantu. Eleventh ranked VL Pesaro (3-4) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked MIA-RO Cantu (3-4) 90-87 in the fight for the eighth place. VL Pesaro made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. MIA-RO Cantu was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American forward Erik McCree (203-93, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import guard James Blackmon (193-95, college: Indiana) contributed with 27 points and 5 assists for the winners. Nigerian-American Ike-Joseph Udanoh (203-89, college: Wayne St., MI) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and American Frank Gaines (191-90, college: PFW) added 26 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) in the effort for MIA-RO Cantu. Four MIA-RO Cantu players scored in double figures. VL Pesaro moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated MIA-RO Cantu. MIA-RO Cantu lost their third game in a row. VL Pesaro will face higher ranked Virtus Bologna (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
