Regular Season Round 12: Shanghai - Henan 75-58

We should mention about the upset which took place in Shanghai, where higher ranked Henan Phoenix (7-5) lost to twelfth ranked Swordfish (5-7) in a road game 58-75. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Henan Phoenix. Swordfish dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Henan Phoenix's 28. They outrebounded Henan Phoenix 43-32 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by Montenegrin center Jelena Dubljevic (191-87, agency: BeoBasket) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and guard Yingyun Li (173) supported her with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds by American center Stefanie Dolson (196-92, college: Connecticut) did not help to save the game for Henan Phoenix. Forward Jie Sun (187-91) added 7 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Swordfish have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Zhejiang and Sichuan. Newly promoted Henan Phoenix dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Swordfish's next round opponent will be Golden Bulls (#12) in Yiwu.
