Regular Season Round 5: Al-Ahli - Al-Najma 103-69

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Al-Ahli (4-1) crushed 10th ranked Al-Najma (1-4) in Manama 103-69. Al-Ahli players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American-New Zealand forward Marcel Jones (203-85, college: Oregon St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 23 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Ali Aqeel chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. Five Al-Ahli players scored in double figures. International Mohamed Buallay (-95) responded with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Al-Ahli. They maintain fourth place with 4-1 record. Al-Najma lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. Al-Ahli will play against Al-Hala (#7) in Muharraq in the next round. Al-Najma will have a break next round.
