A very close game took place in Tampico between Huracanes and Panteras. Seventh ranked Huracanes (1-13) got a very close home victory over 3rd placed Panteras (8-6). Huracanes managed to escape with a 2-point win 83-81 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Panteras. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The best player for the winners was point guard Jeffery Stubbs (189-91, college: Jackson St.) who scored 25 points and 7 assists. Forward Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-94, college: Towson) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Five Huracanes players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Stedmon Lemon (198-92, college: Johnson C. Smith) who recorded 35 points (!!!) and guard Hameed Ali (188-93, college: Texas A&M-CC) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Newly promoted Huracanes maintains seventh place with 1-13 record. Loser Panteras keep the third position with six games lost. They share it with Laguneros. Huracanes will meet higher ranked Abejas (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Panteras will play against Santos and hope to secure a win.
