The game between Top Four teams took place in Ciudad Victoria. 4th placed host Correcaminos (7-7) lost to second ranked Capitanes (10-4) 100-90. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Correcaminos. Correcaminos were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Panamanian forward Ernesto Oglivie (203-89) helped adding 19 points and 8 rebounds. Five Capitanes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international guard Jose-David Estrada (194-94, college: High School, agency: Pro Sports) with 21 points and American swingman JR Giddens (196-85, college: N.Mexico, agency: Interperformances) scored 20 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Capitanes keep a position of league leader, which they share with Aaguacateros. Loser Correcaminos keep the fourth place with seven games lost. Capitanes will face Laguneros (#4) in Torreon in the next round. Correcaminos will play on the road against Libertadores in Queretaro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
