Very predictable result when fifth ranked Magic Deer (9-4) rolled over 17th ranked Tianjin (1-12) in Urumqi 80-56. Magic Deer dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Tianjin's 22. Magic Deer forced 21 Tianjin turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American center Natasha Howard (190-91, college: Florida St., agency: LBM Management) fired a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Center Tongyi Liu (192-95) chipped in 9 points. Forward Ziqi Han (180-99) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and center Zhuo Ma (190-1) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Magic Deer. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Beijing. Tianjin lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the seventeenth position with 12 games lost. Magic Deer's next round opponent will be Hebei (#6) in Hengshui. Tianjin will play at home against the league's leader Vermilion Birds (#1) and hope to win that game.
