Regular Season Round 5: Barsy Atyrau - Beroe 60-78

Balkan League top team - Bulgarian Beroe (4-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat seventh ranked Kazakhstan Barsy Atyrau (0-3) 78-60. Beroe players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American point guard Conner Frankamp (185-95, college: Wichita St.) nailed 20 points for the winning side and Tihomir Zhelev (193-90) accounted for 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Pavel Ilyin (196-88) came up with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Ukrainian power forward Dmytro Tykhonov (205-92) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Barsy Atyrau in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Beroe have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-0 record. Barsy Atyrau at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
