Regular Season Round 13: Jiangsu - Henan 90-75

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Jiangsu Phoenix (10-3) defeated 7th ranked Henan Phoenix (7-6) in Nanjing 90-75. Jiangsu Phoenix dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Henan Phoenix's 40. Jiangsu Phoenix players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Henan Phoenix's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Canadian Natalie Achonwa (190-92, college: Notre Dame) fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (on 16-of-21 shooting from the field) for the winners. Jiayin Jiang (183-95) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Yuxi Wei produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and Yingli Huang added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Henan Phoenix players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Jiangsu Phoenix. They moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Henan Phoenix dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Jiangsu Phoenix's next round opponent will be Golden Bulls (#13) in Yiwu and are hoping to win another game. Henan Phoenix will play at home against Red Wolves (#15) and hope to win that game.
