Regular Season Round 5: Muharraq - Al-Hala 94-60
Date: November 22, 2018
Rather predictable result when leader Al-Muharraq (5-0) rolled over 6th ranked Al-Hala (2-3) in Al Muharraq 94-60. Al-Muharraq dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Al-Hala's 28 and made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Al-Muharraq players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. American forward Sean Williams (208-86, college: Boston Coll.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 8 blocks for the winners and Ahmed Aldurazi chipped in 20 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Five Al-Muharraq players scored in double figures. Jordanian Ahmed Jamal (-87) responded with 26 points and forward Mahmood Aziz scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Al-Muharraq. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Al-Manama. Al-Hala at the other side dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. Al-Muharraq will play against Al-Nweidrat (#9) in Nuwaidrat in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al-Hala will play at home against Al-Ahli and hopes to get back on the winning track.
