Regular Season Round 11: Gravelines - Chalons-Reims 85-81

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (7-4) beat at home 8th ranked Chalons-Reims (5-5) 85-81. Gravelines-Dunkerque players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Dominican-American point guard Edgar Sosa (190-88, college: Louisville) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 8 assists. The former international center Alain Koffi (207-83, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Devin Ebanks (206-89, college: W.Virginia) came up with 22 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Cameroonian guard Gedeon Pitard (188-89) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for Chalons-Reims in the defeat. Four Chalons-Reims players scored in double figures. Chalons-Reims' coach Cedric Heitz tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gravelines-Dunkerque moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Chalons-Reims at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. Gravelines-Dunkerque's next round opponent will be Chalon/Saor (#7) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Chalons-Reims will play against Pau-Lacq-Orthez (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
