Weert's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after nine consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Amsterdam (1-10) 91-78 on Thursday. It was a good game for American center Tony Washington (208, college: La Salle) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks. Point guard Nino Gorissen (176-97) contributed with 22 points and 8 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Dimeo Van-Der-Horst (197-91) answered with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Matthew Van-Tongeren (201-93) added 17 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Amsterdam. Five Weert and four Amsterdam players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Weert (1-9) left bottom position moving up to ninth place. It was Amsterdam's tenth loss in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Weert are looking forward to face higher ranked Leiden (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Amsterdam will play against Leeuwarden (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
