Regular Season Round 16: Angeles - Fuerza Regia 83-86

Seventh-ranked Angeles (3-12) made lots of trouble for second ranked Fuerza Regia (10-5) in Puebla. The visitors from Monterrey managed to secure only three-point victory 86-83. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of Puerto Rican swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 4 assists. Puerto Rican point guard Carlos Rivera (187-83, college: Hofstra) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Ishmael Paz replied with 24 points and 6 rebounds and Puerto Rican forward Carlos Lopez-Sosa (208-90, college: UNLV) added 19 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Angeles. Five Fuerza Regia and four Angeles players scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia maintains second position with 10-5 record having just two points less than leader Capitanes. Angeles lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the seventh place with 12 games lost. Fuerza Regia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Angeles will play again against the league's second-placed Fuerza Regia (#2) and hope to get back on the winning track.
