Regular Season Round 18: Kawasaki BT - Tochigi Brex 79-86

An interesting game for Tochigi Brex (17-2) which played road game in Kanagawa against second-best Toshiba Thunders (11-8). First ranked Tochigi Brex managed to get a 7-point victory 86-79. Tochigi Brex looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. International power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and American power forward Vernon Macklin (208-86, college: Florida) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Toshiba Thunders. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toshiba Thunders' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tochigi Brex have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-2 record. Loser Toshiba Thunders keep the second place with eight games lost. Tochigi Brex will have a break next round. Toshiba Thunders will play again at home against the league's leader Tochigi Brex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
