Rather expected game in Ishikawa where 5th ranked Kanazawa Sam. (4-15) was crushed by second ranked Kumamoto V. (14-5) 89-65 on Friday. Kumamoto V. dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kanazawa Sam.'s 34. They outrebounded Kanazawa Sam. 46-28 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kumamoto V. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Yoshihiko Toshino (186-92) chipped in 25 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Denzel Bowles (208-89, college: JMU) with 13 points and 9 rebounds and Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St.) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kumamoto V. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-5 record having just one point less than leader Shinshu BW, which they share with Cyberdyne IR. Kanazawa Sam. lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
