Regular Season Round 7: Roanne - Quimper 93-88

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Quimper UJAP (2-5) lost on the road to third ranked Chorale de Roanne (6-1) 93-88 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Quimper UJAP was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American swingman Jason Williams (200-83, college: UTEP) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American-Kenyan forward Robert Nyakundi (202-89, college: SMU) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Bernard King (196-81, college: Texas A&M) answered with 26 points and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and Angolan center Valdelicio Joaquim (208-90, college: Hawaii, agency: Duran International) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Quimper UJAP. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Chorale de Roanne keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Orleans. Loser Quimper UJAP dropped to the fourteenth place with five games lost. Chorale de Roanne will face JA Vichy (#5) on the road in the next round. Quimper UJAP will play against C'Chartres (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
